The Botox Years

By admin | December 6, 2007

I feel like I’m living a bubble called the Botox Years living in the botox generation. I’m not talking about Botox’s ability to fade wrinkles but I’m actually referring to the amount of articles that I have read recently in which botox is actually helping people with medical ailments that have nothing to do with wrinkles.

There was some news out on the wires today that Botox may help people regain control over involuntary bladder contractions.

Here’s what Dr. Gary Lemack from the UT Southwestern Medical Center said:

“The botox prevents the bladder muscles from having these spasms that lead to urinary frequency and urgency.”

It’s amazing what Botox is used for these days.
I just found this article that says Botox is used for strabismus (crossed eyes). Can you believe that?

Ironically, it was originally for strabismus that botox was first used. The researchers found coincidentally that it was also affecting nearby wrinkles. Thus Botox for cosmetic use was born!

Botox is not only used for wrinkles, it’s also a treatment for migraines. If you’re thinking about plastic surgery for wrinkles, ask your physician if Botox is a viable option. Consult here Plastic Surgeon Manhattan, NYC
